Vampire lore is fascinating and the idea of being a vampire has always had an allure. But how do you become one, and what are the consequences of becoming a vampire? The following article will summarize what you need to know about becoming a vampire as well as analyzing possible cures for vampirism.
Have you ever wished to play as a vampire in Skyrim? Want to get rid of your vampirism if you’re already one of the undead?
With the release of the Bethesda RPG’s 10th anniversary edition approaching, now is as good a time as any to try something new — or for the first time — like playing as a vampire! But how can you become a vampire or cure your vampirism in Skyrim?
How to Turn into a Vampire
Vampires are not a distinct race in Skyrim; anybody of any race may become a vampire. To become a bloodsucker, the sole need is that you are not a werewolf. You can’t have vampire and werewolf blood in Skyrim at the same time.
To become a vampire, you must first get the Sanguinare Vampiris sickness.
To do so, you must be struck by a vampire’s weapon or be harmed by a Vampiric Drain spell. Morvath’s Lair is a wonderful spot to look for vampires, since it is home to a large number of low-level monsters of the night. Wear armor that enables you to endure more blows with less damage per hit since you have a 10% risk of catching the sickness with each strike.
Because Wood Elves and Argonians have innate illness tolerance, contracting vampirism may require more assaults than other races.
In either case, a message stating “You have contracted Sanguinare Vampiris” will show in the upper left corner of the screen. You’ll have to wait now.
The sickness and vampirism take 72 in-game hours to manifest, albeit you must go into the sunlight at least once before you may convert into a vampire. During this time, don’t consume any Cure Disease potions.
The Benefits and Drawbacks of Being a Vampire
Vampirism has four levels, and you will progress one stage for every 24 in-game hours spent as a vampire unless you feed. You will be reset to the first stage if you feed.
Your Frost resistance will grow with each step, but your Fire resistance will decrease. This includes your ability to withstand sunshine.
As you progress through the phases of vampirism, NPCs will become more hostile. They will assault right away in the fourth stage. The higher your level, though, the more vampiric power and spells you have to protect yourself from irritating NPCs.
A 100 percent tolerance to poison and sickness, as well as the Champion of the Night and Nightstalker’s Footsteps abilities, which provide you greater strength for Illusion spells and stealth, respectively.
Vampirism also renders you lifeless. All enchantments, buffs, and debuffs will be enhanced if you have the Necromage perk.
How to Get Rid of Vampirism
Are you tired of not being able to travel securely throughout the day? There is a cure for vampirism, so don’t worry. If you approach a bartender and inquire about rumors, they will tell you about Falion, a Morthal magician who researches vampires.
Falion may be found between the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. in Morthal’s swamp, or at his home otherwise. He’ll inform you that a full Black Soul Gem can cure vampirism. To fill a Black Soul Gem, you must first buy one from Falion and then perform Soul Trap on a humanoid target.
Return to Falion with your filled gem, and he will perform the ritual to cure you of vampirism, as well as promise to supply you with unlimited cures.
That’s everything there is to know about becoming a vampire in Skyrim and treating vampirism. Though it has its drawbacks, playing as a vampire provides access to a plethora of new and exciting chances and experiences. Consider giving it a go, and if you don’t like it, just go to Falion and be healed! Check out our Skyrim guides hub for additional information!
