A lot of West Virginians think iPLAY is strictly for online play. But you don't actually have to buy your tickets digitally to earn rewards. If you purchase a draw game ticket or scratch-off at your local retailer and scan it through the app, those points go straight into your PlayON account.

How PlayON rewards work
PlayON is the loyalty program built into iPLAY. When you register for an iPLAY account, you're automatically enrolled. From there, every eligible play earns you points – whether you bought that ticket at a gas station down the road or online from your couch.
Points can be redeemed for entries into PlayON draws, which offer prizes including merchandise, cash drawings, free scratch-offs, and more. Points expire 13 months after they're earned, so it's worth keeping an eye on your account balance.
Scanning in-store tickets
The iPLAY app includes a built-in ticket scanner. After you buy a draw game ticket or scratch-off in-store, you can open the app and scan the barcode. This does two things: it checks whether your ticket is a winner and, where eligible, submits it for PlayON points or second-chance drawing entries.
It's a straightforward process. You don't need to be playing online to take part – the app works as a companion to your in-store purchases just as well as it does for digital ones.
All tickets, except promotional tickets, will generate PlayON points. Check current promotions in your account or on the West Virginia Lottery website for which tickets qualify. In addition, the scanner requires camera permissions and a stable connection to work correctly.
How to get started
If you haven't set up an iPLAY account yet, you can register on the official West Virginia Lottery website or download the app. iOS users can find it in the App Store. Android users need to download it directly from the website itself.
Once you're registered, scanning in-store tickets takes seconds. Your points and entries will appear in your PlayON account after processing.
