The Nintendo Switch OLED model is nearly here, but it is not without controversy. This is due to the fact that many assumed it was the previously reported Switch Pro. The issue is that the former does not support 4K visuals like the latter, which seems to have been Nintendo’s intention all along.
That hasn’t prevented speculations of a 4K model from circulating online. Indeed, a recent Bloomberg article indicates the existence of such a model, which may be accessible as soon as 2022. However, before anybody can get their hopes up, Nintendo has refuted these allegations once again.

Switch Pro seems to be a long shot.
Nintendo’s reaction isn’t anything to be sniffed at.
In fact, given the present state of the market, the notion of a Switch Pro seems to be out of the question. When it comes to the system in its present form, everything seem to be going well for the Japanese gaming giant. Despite declining hardware and software sales, the firm sold 89 million devices globally in the April-June quarter, according to its financial report.
In terms of upgrades, Nintendo has gotten away with making minor changes to its design in order to create newer, more subtle models. The first updated variant, the Switch Lite, was a stripped-down, solo-device version with an enhanced chipset that was designed for mobile-only gaming. The second model was identical to the basic model, with the exception that it had the same updated chip as the Lite variant.
Finally, the OLED variant would include a dock with a LAN connection and a somewhat bigger OLED screen. It’ll be on sale on October 8 for $50 extra than the standard model. However, none of the models are capable of running games at 4K resolution. Nintendo does not seem to be interested in such a project at the time.
However, this does not rule out the possibility of 4K games on the Switch. The business is no stranger to cloud gaming, which is on the increase. Indeed, several of the console’s games are cloud-based and could be readily modified to broadcast in 4K quality.
